United States – Republican presidential nominee to be Donald Trump is scheduled to address a campaign rally at his golf course in Miami on Tuesday, as the clock ticks down on the day he may need to pick a vice-presidential choice to join him on the stage at next week’s party convention.

Campaign Events in Florida and Pennsylvania

After the event in Doral, Florida, on Tuesday, Trump is scheduled to hold a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday, a swing state. Both will give updates, especially on any indication—or news—of who Trump will be selected for the vice president position, as reported by Reuters.

Senator from Ohio J. D. Vance and Senator from Florida Marco Rubio, according to insiders close to the matter, may join Trump on the ticket of the republican party; the governor of North Dakota, Doug Burgum, has not left the list yet.

The decision will come at a time when Democrats are in disarray after Biden’s disastrous debate with Trump on June 27 and after more senior Democrats begin to call on the 81-year-old president to quit and make way for a younger candidate.

Decision Timing and Democratic Challenges

Trump was asked by the Fox News host Sean Hannity during the interview on Monday evening whether Rubio, Vance and Burgum as well as the South Carolina Senator Tim Scott were included into the list.

“The names that you mentioned, absolutely, they’re under consideration,” Trump responded, adding that he wanted the confusion presently rocking the Democratic Party out “because, you know, it might make a difference.”

Trump further noted that he will probably make a decision sometime around or slightly before the Republican Party National convention that is set to commence on July 15.

Trump will Turn to the rally in Doral to hold Biden responsible for inflation and criticize his immigration policies, citing the examples of alien criminals who entered the United States illegally, in particular, according to the Trump campaign statement.

Campaign Focus and Strategy

When allied to activist Republicans in Florida such as Ford O’Connell, Trump will probably allow the Democratic chaos and pressure on Biden to dictate media focus rather than shift the attention at Doral by stating who he wishes to be VP.

“If you are Trump, it doesn’t get much better than this. And the key is to just keep talking about inflation, closing the border, crime, and instability abroad,” said O’Connell, who worked with Trump during the 2020 campaign, as reported by Reuters.

Pennsylvania Speech

On Saturday, Trump will give a Pennsylvania afternoon speech in Butler, close to Pittsburgh. Trump won the state in 2016 but emerged a loser in the 2020 election, and victory in the November 5 election may be decisive for the winner.
