United States: According to the New York Police Department in a briefing held early Thursday, ten people were shot in a mass shooting in Queens, New York, late on New Year’s Day.

The shooting happened when 3-4 males fired at a group of people outside the venue, according to the NYPD. Some of them flocked to social networks to express their disbelief over the incident and share pictures of police forces at the scene.

Words have been said that no terrorist was involved in the act.

Ongoing Investigations

The incident occurred only a few hours after two other violent actions in the rest of the country on New Year’s Day. A truck crashed into a New Orleans’ crowded New Year’s Eve celebration strip, killing 15, and in Las Vegas, a Tesla truck exploded on a bridge, killing one person and injuring seven others outside the Trump Hotel, as reported by Reuters.

Local police and civilian groups were searching for further suspects connected with the New Orleans and Las Vegas attacks, and authorities were also exploring links to terrorism.
